Advanced Construction Accelerator – Coming Soon

Connected Places Catapult, the UK’s leading innovation agency for transport and built environment, is working on a brand-new programme for SMEs with solutions in the construction domain. The Advanced Construction Accelerator will support up to 10 SMEs at TRL 6-8 with various business needs requirements and investment readiness over the course of 6 months.

The programme is designed to explore specific challenges set by industry and will seek SMEs with products and services which can clearly address these.

These challenges will fall within the three main programme themes of:

• Productivity – Improving the output or efficiency of projects and the ability to deliver construction projects to budget.
• Sustainability – Helping to improve the construction sector’s contribution to the UK’s decarbonisation goals and the net zero transition. This could include reduced wastage, use of more sustainable materials, or processes, which will lead to a better quality of life, social progress, stable levels of economic growth and employment, whilst protecting, and enhancing the environment. 
• Digital Future – Facilitating the transition to digital future of construction. The digital future of construction will involve the use and application of digital tools that make the delivery, operation and renewal of our built environment safer, more efficient, and more collaborative.

The aim of the programme is to maximise the potential for commercial engagement by allowing industry to play an active role in challenge setting, SME selection and productvalidation in the form of use case design and technology trials.

Ahead of the official launch of the programme later this summer, Connected Places Catapult are seeking industry partners who are interested in learning more about the programme and sponsoring programme activities by providing mentorship, testing facilities and funding SME trials.
