New insights into academic engagement

During the pandemic the Higher Education sector in the UK experienced much of the same seismic impact on economic health and prosperity as the rest of the economy.

But while global researcher mobility has suffered, many teams have told us of the creativity going into digital connectivity ensuring teams can still collaborate. Many Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) were well advanced in digital transformation projects and could continue working online.

The Catapult’s Academic Engagement Insights Report for the year April 2020 – March 2021 explores these and other issues. Dr. Will Pearson, Head of Academic Engagement said “Over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve adjusted our own working practices, helping the universities and businesses we work with to adjust their project timelines, draw on new pools of resource if some of theirs became unavailable, and maintained contact when the academic colleagues may have experienced isolation.

This short Insights Report covers how we work under Connect, Spark and Accelerate to bring life the relevant parts of the Strategy and Delivery Plan”
