Innovation doesn’t thrive in isolation - it flourishes when people, organisations, and institutions come together to challenge, refine, and accelerate new ideas. At this conference, you’ll have the chance to connect with a diverse network of innovators, thought leaders and entrepreneurs, and discover how collaboration can drive commercial success and fuel sustainable, local economic growth.

Hosted by Connected Places Catapult, in partnership with the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, this event will spotlight the region's most dynamic initiatives designed to accelerate innovation, including:

  • The Sheffield Innovation Spine supporting the growth of tech and knowledge-led start-ups rooted in groundbreaking university research.
  • The Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District enabling collaboration and fast-tracking commercialisation for businesses of all sizes.
  • The Innovation Place Leadership Academy (IPLA) & Innovation Districts Group (IDG) empowering place leaders to foster innovation-led prosperity and attract investment into regional infrastructure and innovation.
  • The UK Freeports Initiative boosting regional economic growth and driving long-term inward investment while accelerating progress towards Net Zero targets in the maritime and logistics sectors.

This full-day conference features keynote presentations, panel discussions, Q&A sessions and workshops that bring together key players from academia, commercial businesses, local and regional government, business support organisations, and, crucially, SMEs and entrepreneurs themselves.
