Ginger Town is a UK-based micro-mobility e-scooters and e-bikes fleet operator focusing on enabling cleaner and better-connected towns and cities. Through the SIMULATE programme, Connected Places Catapult provided Ginger Town with technical and market support, market access, investor readiness and the opportunity to deploy their services in a Live-Lab test bed in Staffordshire. The support provided through the programme has helped Ginger Town to achieve the traction they needed to scale their business.
SIMULATE is a partnership between Amey, Staffordshire County Council, Connected Places Catapult and Keele University, designed to support innovative Air Quality and Intelligent Mobility solutions within local authorities. The partnership was established to address the disconnect between an ever-evolving technology market and real-world use cases within a local critical infrastructure.
The Live-Labs accelerator programme was a phase one of the SIMULATE project, aimed at identifying industry-leading SMEs and providing them with an opportunity to pitch for funding and a place on a 6-month curated accelerator programme.
