Connected Places Catapult is proud to be delivering the third Station Innovation Zone Innovation Funding Competition in collaboration with Network Rail.
We are seeking up to 8 innovators with technology, products and services which can improve various aspects of the passenger experience when travelling through stations. You will get the chance to collaborate with the station and experts to design a trial proposal. The best proposals will then be taken forward to run a full trial at Bristol Temple Meads Station.
We encourage all innovators with the relevant solutions to apply, regardless of whether they have experience in rail or not.
This webinar will provide details regarding this year’s specific challenges the competition will address and will guide potential applicants through the application process. Attendees will have the chance to ask questions and seek support to help build a strong application.
Challenge areas
- Accessibility Challenge – we are looking for innovations that can support stations by tackling accessibility ‘barriers to travel’ and by maximising the impact of accessibility.
- Personal Security Challenge – we are looking for innovations that can support stations by creating an environment that feels safe and secure and by making it easier for people to report feeling unsafe and analysing the results.
- Green Challenge – We are looking for innovations that can support stations by making the station engaging, ecological and enjoyable and by supporting data driven solutions to inform decision making.
- Open Challenge – We are also looking for innovations truly novel to the rail environment that can help contribute to a safe, seamless, social and sustainable station of the future, by aligning with Network Rail priorities.
