We invite prospective applicants to join our Application Support Webinar for Station Innovation Zone. This webinar will provide comprehensive information about the competition and how you could test and trial your innovative solution in a real-world rail environment at Bristol Temple Meads Station.

The Station Innovation Zone, part of Connected Places Catapult's wider Station Innovation Zone Programme, transforms Bristol Temple Meads Station into a dynamic testbed for cutting-edge technologies.

Our shared vision is to shape the station of the future – a proud, efficient gateway that reflects local identity, fosters inclusivity, and enables effective transit through its spaces. It aims to reduce barriers to innovation for SMEs and serves as a showcase for rail technology buyers and investors.

What we’ll be discussing:

- Programme Overview: We'll detail the competition's structure, including the two phases, funding opportunities, and the support provided to successful applicants.

- Key Challenges: A thorough explanation of Challenge One (Station Weather Resilience) and Challenge Two (Interchange Anxiety Reduction) will be provided, outlining their specific goals, measurable outcomes, and achievable criteria.

- Timelines: We will clearly present the key dates for both Phase One and Phase Two of the competition, including the duration of the trial period.

- Terms of Participation: Eligibility requirements, Technology Readiness Levels (TRL), and the commitment expected from participating SMEs will be reviewed.

- Involvement with Network Rail: The crucial role of Network Rail in the competition will be highlighted, including their support for SMEs and the benefits of this partnership.
