Join us on 2 July for the Planning Innovation Insights & Showcase, co-hosted by Connected Places Catapult and Prior + Partners . The Event will bring together practitioners, policymakers, academics and industry leaders to explore how digital innovation can support more strategic, integrated approaches to planning.
The UK is entering a pivotal moment in planning for growth, infrastructure and long-term resilience. Rising national ambitions around housing delivery, economic growth and infrastructure investment are increasing the scale, complexity and importance of robust planning decisions. The introduction of Spatial Development Strategies across England creates a renewed opportunity to plan at the scale at which economies, infrastructure systems and housing markets operate.
Advances in data availability, geospatial analysis and digital tools are enabling more joined-up, evidence-led and outcome-focused approaches to decision-making. This event will explore what is needed to overcome existing barriers to strategic planning and unlock its full potential – through shared evidence, collective vision, and data-driven decisions that strengthen coordination and accelerate delivery.
The session will feature insights from Connected Places Catapult's latest planning work, a live demonstration of a digital planning prototype co-developed with Prior + Partners, and a panel discussion with leading voices from policy, practice and academia, followed by a networking reception.
