We would like to invite you to express interest in attending the First Annual Innovation Procurement Empowerment Centre (IPEC) Reception, at the House of Lords, where we will be the guests of parliamentary sponsor, Lord Erroll.

Why Attend?

IPEC is a mission-driven support programme to help empower public bodies to implement procurement practices that foster innovation. It was founded in 2022 by a partnership between Connected Places Catapult, the University of Birmingham and the University of Manchester, with support from Innovate UK.

With approximately £300B a year being spent on public procurement, public sector organisations have a significant role in fostering innovation and economic growth in the UK. Local Government alone accounts for approximately £70B of that.

Following the passing into law of the Procurement Act 2023, advance copies of a revised report ‘The Art of the Possible in Public Procurement’ will be available. You will also have an opportunity to speak with the authors team, led by Connected Places Catapult’s Malcolm Harbour CBE (ahead of the official 15th January report launch).

What to Expect:

  • Exclusive insights into the Procurement Act 2023 with advance copies of ‘The Art of the Possible in Public Procurement.’
  • Engage with the authors’ team, led by Malcolm Harbour CBE from Connected Places Catapult,
  • Meet Rikesh Shah, the newly-appointed Head of IPEC and Tech Innovator at Harvard University, formerly Transport for London’s Head of Open Innovation.

RSVP Details:

Express your interest in shaping the future of innovation-friendly procurement by registering by 15th December 2023.

Important Note:

Ensure a seamless entry experience by registering your RSVP with the exact name as on your photo ID (Passport or driving licence). Your identification will be required for entry on the day.
