Innovative financing’s potential to drive sustainability in the built environment sector

DATE: 31 March, 2021

LOCATION: Online Event

START TIME: 2:00 pm END TIME: 3:30 pm

Traditional sources of funding are proving insufficient to meet our growing housing needs, as well as necessary renewal of buildings to meet environmental and efficiency aims. As a result, innovative financing models and tools are emerging as increasingly effective ways of supporting sustainable new build and retrofitting projects.

Connected Places Catapult, in partnership with Vivid Economics, is conducting research to identify the stand-out innovations and tools being developed in this space that have the potential to drive change on a wider scale. Our research looks at:

  • The impacts of these innovations, and how those could be maximised through further action and investment;
  • Key blockers to innovation
  • Practical actions for progress in this space.

Connected Places Catapult and Vivid Economics will present some of the key findings of our research in the webinar, as well as showcasing innovations that illustrate the potential in this space.

Our work will draw upon expert input from across a variety of key stakeholders, and is relevant to:

  • Investors
  • Policy makers
  • Innovators
  • Construction and housing firms
  • Technology suppliers.

The event is an opportunity to learn more about the potential in this space, and to help shape the interventions that will drive wider application of innovative financing to deliver sustainability in the built environment sector.
