Maritime UK Week 2022 will take place between Monday 10th – Sunday 16th October 2022. With a programme of events including careers fairs and open days, Maritime UK Week is an opportunity to engage stakeholders from across the UK with the world of maritime. It highlights the latest developments in the sector and brings professionals together to make progress on key issues, particularly as we move towards a greener industry.

For this purpose, Connected Places Catapult has partnered with Portsmouth City Council, and Hampshire County Council to host a Connections Café on the 14th October, to delve further into some of the key challenges faced by stakeholders within the industry and identify cross-sector opportunities driving innovation and prosperity.

Starting with an engaging keynote, this event will entail two-panel discussions, followed by a session showcasing innovative maritime SMEs, based in the Solent. This event in particular aims to encourage collaboration from complementary sectors, ranging from industry to academia, and understand the benefits for those in marine and maritime.

The Solent Maritime region has a £5.8 billion maritime economy and a workforce of 152,000 strong, but is the potential of this vibrant, influential hub being maximized? To unlock the region’s future on the world stage, innovation has a central role to play, and this event could join the dots and be a catalyser for it.
