Connected Places Catapult is developing an exciting new programme working in developing an exciting new programme working with our global strategic partner ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability and the governments of the Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara (Mexico), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Campinas (Brazil) and Monterrey (Mexico). The programme will develop long-term business-led research and innovation collaborations between these cities and the UK to address city-level challenges related to climate change and resilience.

The Programme is predicated on the belief that whilst city authorities may own a city problem, they don’t have to own a problem’s solution in its entirety – the market can help. The focus is to develop accessible project opportunities for SMEs and start-ups that complement or fill gaps in-between the existing activities in a city and the end goal is to realise opportunities through the deployment of equitable, UK-Latin American SME partnerships. Importantly, it can only be undertaken in collaboration with key stakeholders in the city, such as yourself.

Within the City of Buenos Aires, the programme aims to better understand how innovation can improve last-mile logistics. This collaborative workshop session is looking to bring together local innovators, entrepreneurs, last-mile logistics experts, academia and community ambassadors to identify priority challenges and opportunities for decarbonising last-mile logistics in the city and develop a shared vision for the ambitions of the programme.

This will be a 3.5-hour session, including an overview presentation of the programme, interactive activities, networking, and refreshments.
