Project Summary
This project aims at developing a prototype of low-cost, self-healing sleeper using MR fluid for railway applications at bride ends and stiffness transition zones. The prototype will make use of smart MR characteristics of which it can be in solid state when magnetised by track circuit, and otherwise it is naturally in fluid state.
