Iain Craven

Iain joined us from the Transport for the North (TfN) where he was finance director for six years, during which time TfN’s expenditure grew to c.£50m from a virtual standing start.

Iain joined shortly after TfN was established as an unincorporated partnership between DfT and the northern local transport authorities, and played a key role in preparing for and managing the transition to statutory body status. Iain was also responsible for developing the funding framework that was adopted by the TfN board and included in the north’s first statutory Strategic Transport Plan. 

Prior to that Iain was an Executive Director in the EY public sector corporate finance practice and led teams advising both central and local government clients on a diverse range of transactions including large scale procurement, capital programmes and disputes. Iain has 25 years post-qualification experience and brings extensive experience of leading and managing teams in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
