Becky Wood
Becky Wood is an experienced infrastructure delivery professional, who has spent the last 20 years working in and leading complex and significant transport infrastructure programmes. Past roles include Director, Rail Major Projects and Growth for the UK’s Department for Transport, where she was the government SRO for the Crossrail, Thameslink & Intercity Express programmes.
Appointed to a senior role with Transport for New South Wales in early 2016, Becky had responsibility for procurement and delivery of three major rolling stock renewals projects for the State, as well as their first new ferry fleet in many years. Becky joined Aurecon, an international engineering design and consultancy firm based in Melbourne, in mid-2019 and was promoted to Managing Director, Transportation, ANZ in early 2020. A member of the Executive leadership team of the ANZ business, as Transport MD she set the strategy for Aurecon’s approach to all modes of Transportation across the Australia and New Zealand businesses, working closely with the teams leading work on the City Rail Link in Auckland and in support of development work for Auckland Light Rail.
Becky joined the UK Government Infrastructure and Project Authority team in early 2021 and was appointed as Her Majesty’s Government Special Representative to the TfL Board, Finance Committee and Programme & Investment Committee in June 2021. In early 2022 she was appointed as the DfT’s Non-Executive Director for the Transpennine Route Upgrade Programme. She accepted a role as a partner in EY’s infrastructure consulting business in early 2023.
Becky is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and has significant transactions experience in both private and public sectors. She was named one of the Top 50 public sector women in NSW in 2018, and won the Chief Executive Women scholarship to Stanford Graduate Business School in 2019.
