Director of Environment and Sustainability at London Borough of Camden for the past 3 years, with responsibility for environmental services (waste, recycling, street cleansing), transport strategy, climate action, highways engineering, energy management, parking services and transport services. An environmental economist by training, Richard has worked across the urban environmental management sector with the London Environment Directors Network, Greater London Authority, Keep Britain Tidy and the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management. Richard uses his passion, skills and knowledge to lead motivated teams in tackling the challenges set by the climate emergency through adaptation strategies, advocating efficient material management, structural change to local transport networks, and place-based transformation. Current focus on re-imagining Euston Road; delivery of a Future Neighbourhood programme (£3.1m Greater London Authority funding), and; Greening Bloomsbury programme.
