Connected Places Catapult has developed a City Data Sharing Toolkit. The toolkit includes tools, approaches and resources for local authorities sharing non-personal data.
We hope it will be useful for those currently working in city governments as well as those supplying data sharing services to be able to find a common language and process in approaching the sharing of data.
The toolkit has been created on the basis of interviews with data sharing experts from around the country. In addition at the beginning of September we brought together those from local government, SMEs and think-tanks to help us co-create the early content of the toolkit. The toolkit focuses on the non-technical aspects of sharing data which are often overlooked but can also be the key barriers for data sharing.
This is the first version of the Toolkit and we’re hoping to be able to develop further versions on the basis of further engagement with cities and SMEs. The toolkit is published under a Creative Commons license allowing others to re-use the content and suggest further amendments.
