Applications are now open for the new Milton Keynes Accelerator

The programme will support SMEs with innovative solutions. To improve connectivity and boost urban sustainability in Milton Keynes. 

Sponsored by Milton Keynes Council, the programme is looking for 10 SMEs at TRL 6+ to join a 6-month programme. The SMEs will receive support from a consortium of strategic industry partners including Centre:MK, Amey and Socius Development . The consortium will offer commercial guidance and testing facilities to help the cohort via trials.  

The Accelerator is designed to explore specific challenges faced by Milton Keynes. And will seek SMEs that align with the key areas set out below:  

Connecting Milton Keynes  
  • Technologies which will enable the city to further leverage data to increase the connectivity of our transportation and infrastructure. This could include but is not limited to technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, 5G and IoT. 

Decarbonising Milton Keynes 
  • Disruptive digital technologies and platforms which will enable the city to achieve Net Zero. By influencing sustainable mobility choices alongside improving the environment. This could include but is not limited to sustainable mobility, renewal energies, water efficiency, waste management, circular economy and others.  
Connected Community
  • Milton Keynes is recognised internationally as a centre of learning and innovation at the heart of a cluster of high performing universities in the Cambridge – Milton Keynes – Oxford Arc. The programme is seeking solutions which will help to continue to attract and develop talent. As well as bringing communities together to drive a more sustainable and prosperous future for all.

Connected Places Catapult will be delivering the programme in partnership with True Altitude. They will support the SMEs through a bespoke programme roadmap tailored to their business needs. This will include but is not limited to investment readiness, business modelling, customer profiling and enterprise selling.
