We are excited to host an exclusive online event where selected investors will have the opportunity to hear pitches from some of the most promising, investment-ready ventures emerging from Connected Places Catapult's Maritime Accelerator.
This event will showcase ventures at various stages of growth, from pre-seed to early series-A, with innovative solutions tailored to the maritime sector and adjacent industries.
From our application pool of 31 SMEs operating between TRL 5-8, we shortlisted the most promising ones to join the programme. They received a package of support around market targeting, value proposition refinement, strategic pricing, financial forecasting, and communication strategies to accelerate their growth and innovation, and leave a lasting mark on the maritime landscape.
They were also offered trial and mentoring support from our programme partners DP World, Houlder, Port of Tyne, Portsmouth International Port, Serco, Maersk, University of Plymouth and Royal Navy to help SMEs in their commercial growth.
The UK maritime industry contributed around £46.2bn to our GDP, with employment to over 1.1 million people across the UK. With huge investments required in ports, logistics, shipping, offshore renewable energy and maritime engineering and professional services, this is a huge opportunity to invest in one of the UK’s most undervalued industries.
