CReDo Demo and Use Case Workshop: Technical Demonstration and Ideation Session for Academics and SME Innovators
In partnership with the Science and Technologies Facilities Council (STFC), Connected Places Catapult is hosting a unique event designed to bring together the brightest minds from academia and the most forward-thinking representatives from innovative SMEs. At this session, attendees will:
- Learn about the key features of the Climate Resilience Demonstrator (CReDo) connected digital twin for climate resilience;
- Explore the CReDo source code for component ideation;
- Conceptualise potential use cases and opportunities to leverage the CReDo approach and underpinning technology in new real-world settings.
- Network with like-minded academics, innovators and funding institutions.
At the event, participants with a technical background will have an opportunity to deep-dive into the CReDo source code and run a demo Python Jupyter notebook.
The demonstration will provide participants with technical understanding of key functionalities of CReDo, including:
- Importation and structure of datasets to develop a synthetic asset graph;
- Running of asset failure and failure cascading models;
- Examination and visualisation of model outputs to understand how assets will behave in extreme events; and
- Decision support to better understanding asset criticality and facilitate better investment decisions.
Why should you attend this event?
- Collaborate and Innovate: Work alongside top academics and innovative thinkers to tackle real-world challenges using cutting-edge methodologies and technologies.
- Showcase Your Skills: Demonstrate your expertise in areas including digital twins, resilience planning, climate data, and digital solutions.
- Explore New Applications: Discover and develop innovative applications for CReDo that can drive significant impact in various sectors.
- Research Poster Presentation: Academics can apply for the opportunity to present your latest research findings to a captive audience of industry professionals and peers.
- Networking Opportunities: Connect with organisations actively working in or funding strategic R&D. Forge partnerships that could propel your projects to new heights.
Who Should Attend?
- Academics conducting research in digital solutions, climate data, resilience planning, and related fields.
- Representatives from innovative SMEs working on technical development of digital solutions to support resilience and sustainability in infrastructure.
- Organisations and agencies focused on strategic R&D and innovation funding around climate resilience, digital risks, digital twins, cyber-physical infrastructure.
Event Highlights:
- CReDo Technical Demonstration: Dive deep into CReDo code and brainstorm new possibilities for its technical components.
- Research Poster Sessions: Share your research and gain insights from peers and industry experts.
- Ideation for Real-World Applications: Explore how our product can be applied to solve pressing challenges in various industries.
This is your chance to be part of a stimulating day of innovation, collaboration, and exploration.

The Climate Resilience Demonstrator
In this session, we will provide an overview of CReDo and its developments to-date, including an overview of key features and current use cases.
Use Case Workshop
Participants will take part in facilitated exercises to identify potential use case for the CReDo approach and its subsequent components. The purpose of the workshop is to identify challenges in other areas and sectors of the economy where a CReDo solution may mitigate the challenge.
Wrap session – Next Steps
In this session, participants will have the opportunity to present the outcomes of the use case workshop and brainstorm how we might take the ideas forward in the future.
Drinks reception with poster presentations
Attendees are invited to join the CReDo team and leadership from Connected Places Catapult for drinks and networking.
We will continue to provide live technical demonstration of CReDo code and technical components during the networking session
