Connected Places Catapult is delighted to be hosting the first Airspace of the Future project webinar. Airspace of the Future is one of  the successfully selected Phase 2 projects of the Future Flight Challenge and led by Thales. The overall Future Flight Challenge is delivered by Innovate UK on behalf of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).

The project partners are: Thales, Cranfield University, Cranfield Airport Operations, Inmarsat, Altitude Angel, Ocado Group, Blue Bear, Satellite Applications Catapult, and Connected Places Catapult.

Over the past 9 months this multi-skilled, cross-sector consortium has been focussing on exploring the challenges that the future use of drones at scale will face and how we solve them. The project is developing a coherent, UK-wide solution that will meet regulatory and safety requirements which will enable equitable access to the airspace to all drone operators against a managed and controlled framework.

During the webinar you will hear from the different partners in the project who will provide an overview of the project, details of each element of the project, challenge updates, our Digital Twin development, and looking to the future of how we can unlock scaleable drone services, supported by viable business cases. A more detailed agenda will follow.
