This event is a unique opportunity to understand more about Aberdeen Harbour’s steps to become a net zero port.

Since being awarded more than £400,000 from the Department for Transport’s Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition, Aberdeen Harbour, in conjunction with Connected Places Catapult, Buro Happold and the Tyndall Centre, is completing a feasibility study on the introduction of green shore power at its berths.

This free event provides an opportunity to hear about the results from the project and the next stages. Topics covered will include:

  • Why Aberdeen Harbour has concluded that Shore Power in its North Harbour berths is a highly impactful ‘quick win’ on the route to Net Zero for both the Harbour and its users;
  • How this links in with and supports the Aberdeen Region’s broader Net Zero ambitions;
  • How Shore Power fits in with other port decarbonisation activities and how the project has created a ‘Blueprint’ for Green Ports, not just at Aberdeen but around the UK;
  • Plans for the next phase of the project, other opportunities arising from the next phase of the CMDC funding and how they can engage with the project teams on these.
