How have Somerset Council used innovation procurement to tackle coastal erosion and flood resilience challenges.
Somerset Council have worked with the Innovation Procurement Empowerment Centre (IPEC) to address a challenge around asset management and environmental monitoring. Through the programme, the council successfully procured drone technology to support coastal erosion monitoring and improve flood resilience planning.
The case study demonstrates how innovative procurement can help local authorities access new technologies, address complex place-based challenges and deliver better outcomes for residents.
Could your local authority benefit from a similar approach?
