Project Summary

Durham University’s project considers that electrical grid
power constraints are limiting the roll-out of fast-charge
(ultra high-power) electric vehicle infrastructure for the
transport sector. Its eH2-ZECCY battery is a novel solution
which brings flexibility: it can be charged slowly at low
power, store energy and then discharge quickly at high
power for EV transport. The battery also offers an integrated
solution which is significantly cheaper than charging from
conventional lithium-ion batteries.
