Project Summary

In collaboration with disabled and elderly passengers, Transreport is looking to developa user-friendly and compliant mobile app and web booking portal for accessible air travel. The project offers a multi-modal approach, incorporating new developments in aviation, and integrates seamlessly with the current proprietary technology platform, which includes rail elements. This solution is designed to simplify the booking process for individuals with accessibility requirements, ensuring a seamless travel experience. By working closely with passengers with varying accessibility needs, the technology is being developed with a focus on enhancing the overall travel experience for all, regardless of age or disability.

Project Achievements

Our biggest success is to move our thinking and technology forward to TRL 4. Our biggest challenge was ensuring design-thinking that is universally applicable to all operators within the aviation industry, and not just a subset. This was overcome through engagement with with industry stakeholders for feedback to ensure the appropriate approach is being taken.

Conclusions

We have an illustrative prototype. Our project was successful in what we set out to achieve. We were able to move our technology forward to the next TRL, and now will be further developing it accordingly. We re-enforced our approach of collaborative design, with this being a key lesson learned.

Next Steps

Our next steps are to build a larger scale product that will be validated in controlled environments We have interested stakeholders for when we move forward, with commercialisation possible upon further validation.. The primary benefits of the TRIG programme was the mentoring providing which led to consistent focus on delivery.
