Ken graduated from London University (Queen Mary) with a B.Sc(hons) in Physics and Astrophysics and later from Sussex University with an M.Sc in Astronomy. He joined QMC Instruments Ltd. in 1983 and became Sales Director in 1988. He specializes in cryogenic detection technology for the terahertz region of the electromagnetic spectrum and has spent his entire career at the interface between academic research and high tech commercial activity. He served for more than 15 years on the International Organising Committee of IRMMWTHz, the largest and most diverse conference on terahertz science. He is co-founder of Sequestim Ltd., which was incorporated in 2016 as a collaboration to develop next generation security screening technology. He became CEO in 2020.
