New insights into academic engagement

During the pandemic the Higher Education sector in the UK experienced much of the same seismic impact on economic health and prosperity as the rest of the economy.

The Catapult’s Academic Engagement Insights Report for the year April 2020 – March 2021 explores these and other issues. One of the most affected groups were those requiring access to specialist facilities and those where public engagement was a core component of their research. An interesting analysis of the challenges and opportunities face universities in the uncertainty at the end of the pandemic is assessed in readable analysis produced by Deloitte’s.

Dr. Will Pearson, Head of Academic Engagement said “Over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve adjusted our own working practices, helping the universities and businesses we work with to adjust their project timelines, draw on new pools of resource if some of theirs became unavailable, and maintained contact when the academic colleagues may have experienced isolation.

This short Insights Report covers how we work under Connect, Spark and Accelerate to bring life the relevant parts of the Strategy and Delivery Plan”
