This guide takes a ‘problem-first’ approach. Find a problem that you’re currently wrestling
with. Then explore the tool or tools that are suitable for that problem.
Many of the tools come with worked examples of the tool in action. Most of the examples are
about the aviation industry. But many of the problems they illustrate will apply to other
industries too.
There are tools and examples for problems at different stages you might be at, including
- Understanding the problem
- Engaging with others and building relationships
- Making decisions
You don’t have to start with the problems. You could start by finding a tool that you’ve used
before or just looks interesting to you. Then you can see which types of problem that tool
can be used for, or examples of that tool in action. Or you can even start with the examples
and work backwards.
Some of the activities might only take up 10 minutes of a team meeting. Others could happen
as part of an event lasting a day or more. Some tools can be used on their own, but also as
part of a process, within and alongside other tools.
In the future we hope to add more examples from other industries. If you use any of the
tools in this guide, please let us know what you did and how it went.
Then we can consider adding your example to the guide, to make it even better for future
users.
