Invention and innovation should be for everyone.

Including more diverse people in the process of innovation makes policies, services and products better for our planet and people’s lives.

You might not think you are an innovator, but any time you make a change or improvement to something, then there is a good chance you are innovating.

This guide is for you, and will help you innovate in a way that includes more diverse people and perspectives in more meaningful ways. This guide aims to support you to relate more deeply and effectively with different groups of people, and also with nature, technology, assets and places.

5 Themes of Inclusive Innovation

This guide was created by researching the inclusive innovation sources available and talking with people from local authorities and business support organisations. Then considering what content would be most useful to the initial users of this guide. As a result, we have grouped a collection of methods and case studies under 5 Themes:

3 Principles of Inclusive Innovation

After reviewing sources, and discussing then refining a set of 3 Principles, we believe these are key things to keep in mind at all times:

  1. Equitable, accessible and empowering
  2. Participative and collaborative
  3. Regenerative and adaptive

This website is the initial launch of a work in progress.

We hope to develop it further, to become more visually engaging, and include a wider range of relevant content and locally sourced case studies.
