Connected Places Catapult has demonstrated a strong track record over the past 3 years in leading and delivering accelerator programmes. By coalescing vital stakeholders in the eco-system, we have successfully launched 8 accelerator programmes to date, selecting and supporting over 80 exceptional companies, many of whom now have expanded their operations globally.
With an experienced in-house team who have been designing and scaling accelerator programmes for upwards of 10 years, working with a wide range of partners from the private and public sectors, focusing on transport, the built environment and critical infrastructure domain areas.
Our programmes are supported by high profile international companies and encourage a high degree of peer-to-peer learning, so that SMEs can learn from others in similar circumstances. We also offer services such as mentoring from experienced entrepreneurs, workspace, facilitated networking and educational seminars/workshops.
The Intelligent Mobility (IM) Accelerator, a partnership between Connected Places Catapult and Wayra UK, is designed to attract disruptive start-ups with high-growth potential into the UK transport supply chain, while helping them grow into world-leading companies.
This programme is the first in the UK to cover the full range of areas related to Intelligent Mobility, supporting data-driven solutions for the most pressing transport problems facing the world today. Since the programme launch at the end of 2017, we have leveraged 18+ commercial pilots, and the start-ups have raised over £35M.
Small businesses accepted to the programme will receive a six-month support programme, providing office space, mentoring and networking.
The successful start-ups will also get access to the partners’ networks of investors, government agencies, customers, large corporates and universities, as well as opportunities to work with the Catapult’s world-leading Data, Visualisation, Geospatial, Customer Experience and Connected & Autonomous Vehicle technical teams.
The Connected Places Catapult, Wayra UK, and innogy Innovation Hub – an affiliate of German energy company innogy SE – have come together to grow innovative businesses in the UK.
The innogy Innovation Hub provides funding, mentoring and a co-creation platform for technologies and businesses that have the potential to redefine the market of the future. With teams in London, Silicon Valley, Berlin and Tel Aviv, it has supported over 80 companies and created a portfolio valued at €150 million.
“Scale-Up Hub” focuses on growing small and medium-sized businesses in areas such as future energy, urban solutions, customer experience and connected technologies. It represents a significant international investment in the UK’s rich ecosystem of technology and digital innovation which will create jobs and growth through the development of new market leaders in emerging technologies.
