Senior Business Partner- Resourcing

Purpose of the role

Working with the Head of HR, this exciting role requires someone who is passionate about recruitment and the candidate experience.  This role would partner with both recruiting managers (at all levels) and external providers, helping them shape job descriptions and interview processes.  They would be responsible for creating a brilliant candidate experience, ensuring that Connected Places had the right people who enhanced the business.  The process they bring in would be robust enough so that when the contract finished, the processes continued.


The role will have a Recruitment Advisor reporting to them and would work closely with the wider HR team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review and improve the candidate experience, to include communication for employee and recruiting manager and embedding a slick, easy to follow process
  • Plan and manage forward plan resourcing approaches
  • Manage Recruitment Advisor resource day to day
  • Manage external agencies to ensure great service and wide pool of candidates
  • Manage all internal and external advertising ensuring the correct templates are being used and reflect the organization
  • Review and plan the use of social media channels (Glassdoor & LinkedIn) promoting employer brand more effectively
  • Research apprentice opportunities (working with People Change Support Officer)
  • Coaching line managers in interviewing techniques
  • Represent HR on the recruitment agencies review along with Procurement
  • Update and maintain the organisation chart ensuring it is the one source of truth and use as the benchmark for all other MI
  • Work with the Group Management Accountant on the cost impact of recruitment – recruitment costs and ongoing payroll costs, looking for cost savings and forward-looking sustainability of recruitment
  • You may be required to undertake any other reasonable duties to support the Catapult in achieving its strategic outcomes and ensure effective business operations


Required skills and experience

  • Similar level of responsibility held
  • Experience of creating and managing a brilliant candidate experience
  • Extensive experience of building positive relationships with recruitment agencies
  • Experience of scoping recruitment projects and seeing through to completion
  • Experience of working with data and presenting this in an easy to read format
  • Commercial acumen in partnering with the business to deliver commercially focused people strategies
  • Solid employment law knowledge with regards to resourcing
  • Proven experience managing a small team
  • Ability to coach or train new line managers on Interviewing techniques
  • Ability to work with limited supervision under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Excellence at managing relations with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, being persuasive and approachable
