Key Responsibilities

  • Support the General Counsel in servicing the CPC Group Boards and its committees through the accurate and efficient completion of regular tasks and activities.
  • Responsible for arranging and managing the meeting process for committees, including assisting with Board Meeting preparation such as collation of documents and ensuring papers are provided in a timely manner.
  • Performing a ‘quality control’ role for submissions to Board, ensuring papers follow a consistent format and have been proofread.
  • Providing information and support to Board and committee members, both in a proactive manner when directed and answering queries in a timely way.
  • Taking minutes at meetings and formulating action points/decision logs for circulation in a timely manner.
  • Capturing the identified actions in an orderly manner and tracking their completion, working with colleagues as appropriate.
  • Creating templates for papers to Board and minutes, making suggestions on how to improve consistency and quality.
  • Assisting with filing of documents at Companies House.
  • Supporting reviews of governance policies and procedures, including in particular a review of how papers and minutes are shared with Board and committee members.
  • Escalating issues as appropriate so that they can be resolved quickly and appropriately.
  • Providing general administrative support to the General Counsel and the Legal & Commercial Team.
  • You may be required to undertake any other reasonable duties to ensure effective business operations.

 

Required skills and experience

  • Confident, positive team player with experience of interacting with and providing governance support at executive and senior Board level
  • First class communication and writing skills, including the ability to write high quality minutes in a clear style with excellent attention to detail
  • Outstanding organisational skills and ability to multi-task, balancing priorities of servicing the Board whilst attending to day-to-day administrative responsibilities
  • Comfortable handling highly confidential information, demonstrating discretion and trustworthiness
  • The ability to effectively and proactively engage with a diverse range of individuals, teams and departments across the CPC group
  • Able to take initiative
  • Prior experience of servicing boards and quality control of papers desirable
  • A pragmatic and flexible attitude
  • Sound IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
