EIAs are regulated by EU/UK legislation and are a crucial part of the design evolution and approval process for major projects. Its purpose is to ensure that the environmental and social effects of proposals are understood prior to decisions being taken and to aid public participation in decision-making. But currently they’re seen as burdensome, impenetrable, and very rarely do we monitor if they were right.
Despite the other proptech innovations, digital technology is not being currently exploited to capture data or deliver efficient and effective ways of producing ESs. Although there’s a growing interest in Digital EIA’s, innovations to date focus on making the content, rather than the data more accessible.
Today, as we approach the end of our discovery, we are ready to present to you the cumulation of all this work. We would like to showcase our findings at our launch event on the 24th March 2020, where we will use this research to stir a conversation around the changes needed in our current system and how we can start overcoming the barriers and obstacles ahead of us.
If you are interested in exploring our work and engaging in that conversation, please register below for a ticket and attend the event at the Urban Innovation Centre, on 24th March 2020 from 3:30pm to 7pm. Details and order of events are below.
