View Event Details

Event finished: 5th April 2019

On April 5th the newly established Connected Places Catapult will be partnering with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to host a China Future Cities Programme Stakeholder Engagement Workshop at the Urban Innovation Centre.

The workshop relates to a proposed China Future Cities Programme currently being developed by the FCO. Funded by the UK’s Prosperity Fund, the programme will run from 2019-2022. Using UK expertise, it will work with Chinese partners to support China as it makes cities smarter and more efficient, inclusive, green and sustainable places for a growing population. It also aspires to create an improved business environment in China and generate opportunities for international companies, including UK ones.

We are looking to hear from representatives from academia, industry and government with an interest with China and Future Cities who would like to contribute to the design of the programme. During the workshop we will introduce the proposed programme interventions and solicit feedback from attendees on the opportunities and barriers they seek to address. The workshop promises to be an engaging and interactive event that will give attendees the opportunity to contribute to a collective vision for the UK-China partnership on Future Cities, as well as network with key stakeholders from business, academia and government.
